INDOOR STYLE FOR OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING

July 20, 2018 | By Robin Smith

In the past few years home goods companies have offered us many types of outdoor décor and serve wear with the feel and sophistication of indoor quality merchandise.  This is a growing trend of blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor décor.

Many design experts agree that outdoor spaces should be thought of as an extension of your indoor living room or family room.  The furniture and accessories should be as comfortable and inviting as the indoor furnishings.

The following are some great products that are for outdoor use and look nice enough to use indoors.

1-   Article.com has a teak and powder-coated steel dining table in midcentury modern style.  Also they have a light pendant named Bali that looks like rattan however it is made of sturdy woven synthetic fiber and has a waterproof power cord.

2-   The retail store Anthropologie has a collection of new outdoor furnishings including a woven rattan bar cart that comes in a couple of colors and ceramic side tables in geometric patterns.

3-   New indoor/outdoor rugs with digitally printed patterns on new materials that have improved quality and add warmth to your backyard.  Frontgate and other home accessory stores have a great selection.

4-   Outdoor seating has gotten more comfortable with deep seating.  There are more comfortable roomy sofas and chairs that have style in many solids and patterns to extend your indoor look.

5-   Tableware like plates and glasses has come a long way.  There are many unbreakable melamine dinnerware in many different patterns – you might forget its not real china. Many stores have acrylic glasses that look like cut crystal that come in highball, wine and water glasses.

Bottom Line- Now is a great time for sprucing up your backyard or balcony since many stores have outdoor furniture sales at this time of year.
